What storm damage looks like up close
Hail bruises shingles in ways that rarely show from the ground. A dimple in the granule surface, a soft spot where the mat underneath has cracked, or a scatter pattern that follows the direction the wind was blowing all tell us something different about how hard a storm actually hit a particular roof.
Wind damage tends to show at the corners and along the ridge first, where shingles are most exposed to gusts. A creased shingle that has not torn off completely will still fail early, so we look for those creases rather than only counting what shingles are missing outright.
How we document a claim
We measure every slope, photograph the damage with a reference scale so an adjuster can see the true size, and write our findings the same way an insurance inspection does, task by task. You file the claim. We make sure nothing gets missed at the inspection stage because that is where most disputes start later.
If your adjuster wants to walk the roof in person, we can meet them there and go over the damage together, which tends to speed up the whole process for everyone involved.
Repair or full replacement
Some storm damage is isolated enough to repair, especially on a roof under ten years old. Widespread bruising, multiple leaks already showing inside the house, or hail damage layered on top of an older roof usually points toward a full replacement, and we tell you which situation you are in with the photos to back it up.
Protecting the property until repairs happen
If a storm has opened a hole or torn off a section, we tarp the exposed area the same day when we can, fastened along battens rather than weighted down with loose material, because a tarp that blows off in the next front does more harm than none at all. That keeps the house dry while parts and scheduling catch up with the actual repair.
